Effective Time Management
February 25, 2008 – 12:51 pmI know it’s getting old to hear me complain that I am busy. My mother commented that I am always saying I am busy but she is not able to see how productive I actually am! Well, I sometimes also wonder where my time has gone but the hours just seem to fly by and at the end of the day when I reflect on what I have accomplished, I cannot really see that I have done all that much either.
A friend told me that the problem with me is that I have bad time management. Don’t I know it? Another friend even gave me a book on time management for my birthday a couple of years ago and that action really jolted me to my real problem.
I was at the Time Thoughts website earlier this morning. After going through the website, I now understand what I should do. It all starts with goal setting. Paul did tell me that I should set a goal for myself, sort of like a 5-year plan to work towards to so that I have a direction. He also reminded me that I should not simply set goals that are too far fetched but to set smart goals. This is so that I do not feel discouraged should I not be able to achieve some of the smaller goals.
Well, it all starts with tiny steps. With goals and a mid-term plan in place, I believe that I am able to manage my time better.
