Connecting Idea People With Tech People
March 25, 2008 – 1:14 pmI got to know of this website last night that I know a friend of mine would love to know about. You see, my friend, let’s call him Fatty, for obvious reason, is full of ideas. He told me that he wants to start a web application that could do A,B,C,D and E. I am also an idea person, though I shall never think of stealing his idea BUT when he discusses his ideas with me, all I can do is help him improve on it but not implement it because I too do not have the technical know-how.
The website in question that I was told about is called Befounders.com which you can access at http://www.befounders.com. What it does is actually connect idea people, like Fatty and myself, with technical people. Off hand, the person who comes to mind when talking about tech people is my webhost who goes by the code name “Boringest”. Now, here is a guy who would code the whole day even for free and derives his kicks from seeing his code make something work.
Idea people do not mess with the work of a technical person but to let the technical person know his idea and how he wants his idea to work. A technical person translates it into code and implements that idea.
When I was browsing through the website of Befounders.com, something struck me. While it has a section for “Idea people” and another section for “Tech people” the missing link between these two groups of people is the “Investors” or “Venture Capitalists”. HHmm just think about it: An idea person + a tech person + funding = success.

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for your input.
I’ve heard of LinkedIn before but never tried to find out what it’s all about. Now I know and it sure sounds interesting.
Thanks for dropping by
