Automatic Credit Deduction
May 7, 2008 – 5:40 pmA reader left me a comment recently that his credit is automatically from his Celcom balance each time he receives an unsolicited SMS text message. I am taking it that his is a Celcom prepaid subscription.
Last year, I was at the Celcom office here in Ipoh and a man went to the office to complain of a similar issue regarding his son’s Celcom line. He wanted a solution and not a refund of the monies that had been deducted, unethically, I may add.
However, Celcom was not able to do anything for him and in cases like this, I think that the best for these victims is to just cancel the line and open another one. Credit balances could always be transferred if you are subscribing from the same operator.
I don’t know why this could happen to some phone lines and when I was a prepaid user, I was very careful not to accumulate too much credit. You wouldn’t know when you would be bombarded with chargeable spam, you know?
