I Don’t Have PayPal!
June 19, 2008 – 9:37 amThis is a very amusing incident that I would like to share, even though it happened in a very unfortunate situation.
A couple of weeks ago, I rushed my beloved pet dog, Dino, to the vet for emergency medical treatment. He was in a critical condition and I did not have the opportunity to withdraw money from the ATM. I only had RM183 cash with me as coincidentally, I just bought RM422 worth of pet food and supplements from this same vet the day before. Prescription diet is really not cheap, I tell you!
Anyway, while the vet was treating Dino, I asked him if I could pay him via online if I do not have enough cash with me. At that point, we did not know how much the bill would be.
The vet replied that he does not have PayPal! I really wanted to laugh. What has PayPal got to do with anything since we are both local and Maybank2u would suffice since we both have an account with Maybank! See the power of branding and marketing? The vet was thinking of PayPal even at the oddest of situations.
In the end, the vet billed me RM182 and sad to say, my Dino did not survive that episode.
