Tune Money Visa Card: Alternative PayPal Solution
June 24, 2008 – 5:38 amThe other day, reader Fadilah asked why her AmBank NexG Prepaid MasterCard did not work with PayPal. This card has been proven to work so I really have no definite answer. I am not AmBank. I am also not Celcom, by the way.
Anyway, based on the experiences of friends who successfully linked their AmBank NexG Prepaid MasterCard to PayPal, they need to call up AmBank to let the bank know specifically that they would like to use this card for online transactions, or internet trading. Once the card has been released, they would be able to link up to PayPal.
However, my suggestion is to use Public Bank’s Visa Electron Debit Card, or second choice, Tune Money Visa Card. This is because even if you have successfully linked your AmBank NexG Prepaid MasterCard to PayPal, you will not be able to withdraw your PayPal funds to your AmBank NexG Prepaid MasterCard because withdrawal only works for Visa cards and not MasterCards. Yes, I know this sucks but let’s play by the rules.
So, if I were the looking for a PayPal solution to verify my PayPal account and the ability to withdraw my funds, my first choice would be Public Bank’s Visa Electron Debit Card because I could then transfer my funds easily from my Visa Electron Debit Card to my Public Bank savings account, all online.
My second choice would be Tune Money Visa Card, but remember, you will be charged for each withdrawal. How much will depend on where you withdraw your money from. If you need assistance, do leave me a comment or drop me a line via the Contact Form.

Thanks for the great suggestion for Paypal. I have had problems with paypal in the past and this seems like a viable solution for me.
