Online Auction Marketplaces Will Always Be Relevant
July 5, 2008 – 10:02 amThe other day, after one of the leading online auction marketplaces lost a lawsuit and was ordered by the French commercial court to pay damages, many people questioned if that will spell the end of online auction websites.
Well, I beg to differ. I personally feel that online auction marketplaces will always be relevant in today’s web savvy community. Besides, with the recession, more people now prefer to shop from home where they do not have to waste on fuel or fight for a parking lot with other shoppers.
I have a friend who practically spends all his free time on auction sites scouring for action figures to expand his collection and he tells me that he is not alone. While I only look at action figures as just toys, my friend and his fellow action figure collectors see something valuable and pleasurable in these action figures.
What about other shoppers who collect sports or music or movie memorabilia? There’s a niche market in auctions and online sale as well.
