Colourful Canvas School Shoes
August 13, 2008 – 10:44 amStudying in Malaysia where we must wear pure white canvas schools to school, I was pleasantly surprised when shopping in London for “Back to School” items with my cousin recently.
My cousin had to buy a few pairs of school shoes for her daughter; a pair of patent leather shoes, a pair of canvas shoes and a pair of childrens trainers. All these for schooling only! I remember I only had one pair of white canvas shoes a year. Those were the days!

What surprised me was that while the girl also had a pair of canvas school shoes, it was nothing like our pure white ones. It was as colourful as this pair of canvas school shoes which I found on the website of Startrite. Startrite has a good selection of canvas shoes, leather shoes as well as children’s trainers for school and non-school activities for boys and girls. And being a typical girl, she asked for a pink pair too!
My sister, who lives in the United States, told me that schooling is more liberal there. Children could dress as they like and even if they had worn an extremely striking pair of wedge sneakers to school, it would not pose a problem at all.
I personally think that it should not matter what kind of shoes we wear to school, although having uniformity is good for discipline. The most important thing is to wear good fitting shoes that would help the little feet develop properly.
Buying a pair of shoes may sound like a simple task but are parents buying good fitting shoes for their children? Startrite has articles and videos on shoe buying and caring for the feet of children, and this is especially helpful to new parents. And for school going children, I think parents should invest some money on quality school shoes because of the long hours that the children have to spend in school.

Thats a nice review you’ve done. Those Tea party Canvas School Shoes are really cute. I agree with you, I also think that no matter what kind of shoes we wear to school, the most important is to wear good fitting and comfortable shoes.
