Discrepancy In Crocs Shoe Size
August 5, 2008 – 8:26 amIf you have been reading my blog, you will know that I am a rather big fan of Crocs. I have in fact, written quite a few posts on them. Some months ago, I mentioned that I have a pair of men’s Crocs for my friend. I actually bought it for my dad but he dislikes Crocs. It is, after all, an acquired taste.
Anyway, my friend said that he wants it so I kept it for him. He told me that he wears Size 10. Yes, he is a fan of Crocs as well. So since mine was also Size 10, I kept it for him until last week when I had the opportunity to meet him. He lives in another state, you see.
My friend and I were surprised that although the pair of Crocs that he was wearing was Size 10 and so was mine, mine was smaller by at least one inch! My friend’s foot overshot but I still gave the shoes to him so that he could give it to his friend, whoever wants it.
So the point I am making is that Size 10 for a design may not be Size 10 for another design. So, how does Crocs expect people to purchase their shoes online? I have thought about buying Crocs online since the pair that my friend bought at a local Crocs concept store was MYR169 and it is sold online at US$39 only.
My friend said that he wanted to buy me a pair of Crocs because they have a promotion right now where we can get 15% off after buying two pairs of Crocs. My friend said that it’s a stupid promotion but since he is going to buy another pair of Crocs soon, seeing that he could not fit into mine, he might as well let me benefit from the discount by buying a 3rd pair for me.
I told him not to unless I am there as well because how would I know that the size that I am wearing now would be the same size for another pair of Crocs? The answer is we do not know.
In retrospect, I should have taken a picture of both pairs of Size 10 Crocs to highlight the discrepancy but the smaller Crocs has been passed to another friend so we did not ask him back for a photo shoot.
