Detailed Seller Rating

September 7, 2008 – 9:27 pm

If you are an eBay Malaysia Seller, I am sure you would have noticed that they implemented Detailed Seller Rating, which is actually a break down rating for Buyers to rate Sellers according to their performance from shipping to accuracy in item description to customer service.

Some people, especially international sellers, were rather unhappy about it because international shipping takes a long time and some Buyers would based a Seller based on that. A delay in delivery of item by the shipping company would mean a lower rating or something.

I truly understand their concern but I think that if we ship overseas, we always have to mention to our buyers when to expect it. Let them know the number of days so that they would not start waiting as soon as they have made payment.

Although there would always be some unreasonable buyers, I think that the understanding ones would have no problem giving an appropriate rating despite a delay in delivery. In the long run, average ratings will even out.
