Lelong’s Compulsory Product Q & A

September 26, 2008 – 2:27 am

Come 1st October, 2008, Lelong will impose compulsory Product Q & A on all items. This is to encourage open communication between Buyers and Sellers. I can’t say that I will be happy with their upgrade. This is because I am only selling low priced items and it will not be worth the time to keep track of new questions that may be post across hundreds of items that many of us have listed concurrently.

Sure, I would have the sense to turn on the Q & A function if I were selling an item above MYR100 but then most of my items are only an average of MYR20 - MYR30 and profit is just a fraction of that.

The main problem, I guess, is that there will be no alerts via email that a new question has been posed. This means that we will practically have to log in the whole day to check for new questions. Is Lelong doing this because they would like to earn more money via increase impressions on all the ads that they have plastered in every corner of the website?
