Pos Ekspres Goes International

One of my favorite modes of shipping domestically is by Pos Ekspres. The prepaid envelops are cheap and I stock them up. Shipping is really fast to major cities in the country. I think that of the thousands of times that I have used Pos Ekspres, there was not once that Pos Malaysia failed to deliver it. Granted, there was once or twice when it failed to live up to its promise of “next day delivery” but the number of times this happened is insignificant. Overall, I have enjoyed a pleasant experience using this service.

I am very happy to note that Pos Ekspres has gone international. Its first international destination is the United Kingdom. Like domestic Pos Ekspres service, they also have international prepaid envelops for sale, with the cheapest being sold at MYR39 for maximum document weight of 500g, 1kg prepaid packets at MYR59 and 2kg prepaid packets at MYR99. Unfortunately, these envelops are only sold at selected Pos Malaysia offices and branches.

Delivery time to the United Kingdom is from four to six days, depending on the area. This is a slight improvement from seven working days for international airmail.

Pos Malaysia has plans to expand the outreach of Pos Ekspres International and frankly, I can’t wait for that! Reducing shipping time will reduce the risk of a package being lost in transit. I believe that with Pos Ekspres International, senders and recipients will be able to track their packages too unlike the current international shipping modes where the tracking code is untraceable once the package leaves the country. I hope so!
