Still No Updates On eBay.com Search Engine Glitch

September 22, 2008 – 11:05 am

Since 17th September, 2008, eBay.com acknowledged they are experiencing a glitch with their Search function where newly listed items between 17th to 19th September, 2008 are not being indexed as quickly as they used to be, if at all. They said that affected items will be refunded fees paid because these items are not getting the exposure that the Sellers have paid for.

This is well and good. And nobody asked for a perfect system because technology goes kaput once in awhile.

However, what is of great concern to affected Sellers, particularly those who are in this full time, is the response rate in tackling a problem. Do you remember the time when PayPal had a system glitch that caused many of us in certain parts of the world to be unable to accept funds? I still remember that it took almost four weeks to get it right once again!

It’s difficult to say if this problem has been fully rectified; it is already five days. However, until today, there is still no announcement made on the System Announcement Board announcing that the problem is fixed.
