SuperBid - Bidz.com Clone
September 6, 2008 – 10:43 pmThe other day, while I was promoting SuperBid, it suddenly dawned on me that it has copied the concept of Bidz.com where items are up for auction with an amazingly low starting price of RM1. Of course, for Bidz.com, the starting price is US$1 but the concept is the same. SIGH and for awhile there, I thought they it was pretty innovative of Lelong to come up with such a concept.
However, they do have an iWant section where we could request for an item to be put up for auction on SuperBid for a chance to acquire our dream item at an awesome price.
Anyway, after I have finished promoting SuperBid to my friends, family and their pets, I realized that there was no way for us to keep track of how successful our promotional blitz has been. There’s no way to keep track of the clicks or successful sign ups under us. That’s a pretty bad referral system if you ask me. Now, I don’t even know if I am in the Member-Get-Member sweepstakes or not.

SuperBid is mainly a reward programme for all Lelong members rather than profit-making. Therefore, you can see most of the item are bid & won below market retail price. Lelong will absorb the loss & that’s the reason why we’re getting continuous supports from members.
