“Shoe Bush” Flash Game Website Sold For US$7,818
December 20, 2008 – 10:58 amThe website that hosts a flash game inviting people to throw a shoe at President George W. Bush, that was set up after an Iraqi journalist hit the President with his footwear, has been sold on eBay for US$7818 (GBP5,215).
The brainchild behind this website is actually the young netpreneur, Alex Tew, who made web history in 2006 when he made a million bucks by selling web advertising for $1 per pixel.
What makes this sale so outstanding compared to the sale of other web start ups is that this website was only created on Monday and it was sold on Thursday, to a British internet media company.
The flash game has been so popular, with millions of people around the world throwing a shoe at the President that the server almost crashed. Somehow this game reminds me of the one where we “hammer” the popping head.
The virtual world is so fluid that we always have to think out of the box and be a step ahead of everyone.
ETA: The website in question is Sock And Awe! and it was bought by Fubra.
