Unique Cave Home On eBay
February 20, 2009 – 7:44 pmWhile checking eBay today, I chanced upon this unique auction of a cave home, put up by the Sleeper family. I know that I have mentioned “unique eBay auctions” way too often but that’s only because I am spending way too much time going through eBay. LOL

The Sleeper family is putting their unique cave home up on eBay to avoid foreclosure. Apparently, they do not qualify for the reprieve that President Obama has granted to every American citizen who lost employment and isn’t able to meet home loan installments because they are self-employed.
Anyway, starting bid is at US$300,00 and up till now, there is no bid. However, this home is really unique because it is a real house built into a cave. This picture that I have enclosed is just a preview and there are more photos on their eBay listing page or the website they have set up specifically to promote the sale of their home.
I could imagine how sad this is for the Sleeper family because of the love and attention they have put into the home over the past four years.
If I have the money, I certainly would like such a house. I am not someone who would go for a cookie-cutter house. However, the first question I have is if there’s internet line in that cave! LOL

If you look up the address on Google Earth, you certainly get an idea of how much they are “in town”. The photos look as if it’s a secluded site, but in reality it looks like there are homes all around this cave home. If it is as big as they say, it seems to me that it would be UNDER existing home owner’s properties.
What kind of legal hassle would that be?
Maybe that’s why he’s selling, and for so cheap.
It all sounds rather fishy to me.
