Every time I forget that I should start looking for medical insurance, I am reminded of it by grim news. Just last month, a friend’s uncle had to have his leg amputated due to a bad case of diabetes.
Last night, a friend sent me a text message that she has been diagnosed with brain tumor. Her doctor hasn’t said if it could be operated on but my friend says she has to be very careful as she could collapse any time or go into coma or paralyzed.
It’s very frightening getting news of people falling critically ill. Really, it’s difficult to tell how the world will be with people contracting diseases from mesothelioma to brain cancer to serious diabetes. If that’s not scary enough, we have bird flu and swine fever.
