Antique Or Contemporary Furniture
November 3, 2009 – 9:42 amMy parents and I went furniture shopping over the weekend and came home empty handed. We had every intention of replacing the worn out furniture at home in time for Chinese New Year but unfortunately, we couldn’t come to an agreement on what style we wanted.
My father wanted furniture of antique designs. He says they are grand looking and classy. I, on the other hand, prefer modern furniture anytime. Not only do I think they suit our home better, I think contemporary furniture is more comfortable and inviting unlike antique style furniture that seems cold and stiff, more for display purposes only.
My mother has no opinion and doesn’t mind either way. The person who is going to pay for it, that’s me, should have the final say, right? Hopefully, we can come to an agreement or at least a compromise soon.
