Funding PayPal Through Bank Account
November 13, 2009 – 12:39 pmAfter waiting for years for the ability of Malaysians to withdraw PayPal funds directly to local Malaysian banks, it is finally a reality now. Well, since late October, 2009, to be exact.
However, this morning, I decided to check if that new policy would mean that we, Malaysians, could finally fund our PayPal account through a bank account too. Unfortunately, this isn’t the case and we are not able to do so yet.
Anyone who wishes to make a purchase through PayPal without PayPal balance would still need to fund it with a credit or debit card. Of course, we could still get another PayPal account holder to transfer the funds to us but that would have to be someone whom we trust totally. If anything goes wrong, we do not have any recourse to recover our money.
Also, transfer of PayPal funds between two Malaysian PayPal accounts can only be done in Ringgit Malaysia now, which means that we have to lose a FOREX fee of 2.5% each way.
