Drastic Price Increase

2010 is upon us soon enough and you know, one thing I am anticipating, though not looking forward to, is the drastic price increase in goods. I heard ion the news that prices will increase by 20%!

Even before 2010 is here, an item of 20g that I have been buying for the past four months at only RM8 has already increase in price to RM15.80! That’s a difference of RM7.80, more than double the previous price. And to think that this is a medicinal product.

Prices are already so high even though Goods & Services Tax isn’t implemented yet. What will happen when it is implemented in mid-2011? And isn’t medicine exempted from GST? If so, why the drastic increase? Shouldn’t there be certain price control policies on medicinal products?
