Your Chance To Be A Top Model

May 9, 2008 – 10:15 am

When I was in elementary school, I was quite beautiful. I did join, and win, a beauty contest, but was only an inter-school beauty contest. Everyone commented that I look Japanese but I grew to be ugly instead and refused to get taller. So there ended my dream of being a model.

Well, IF you are young and beautiful, here is a chance for you to get noticed – by joining the Look of the Year modeling contest. I am not sure if you have heard of this contest before but they are pretty big. Winners of Look of the Year become overnight modeling sensations and you too can name a name for yourself if you have what it takes.

To find out how you can participate in the Look of the Year, check out their official website at http://www.lookoftheyear.com. Now, do remember me when you get to the top, OK?

List of Drug Treatment Centers

May 9, 2008 – 3:38 am

My friend asked me to help him compile a list of centers in my city. He is building an online directory. Actually, this online directory is already in place but he is expanding his online directory beyond Kuala Lumpur.

Well, I only know of one drug treatment center here and it is Government run. if I were to help him compile it, I would have to drive around looking for them and take down their address and contact numbers. It’s because their information is not on the web.

I haven’t agreed to help him yet because I am not sure if I could spare the time. I do relish the rides though. At least I will get to spend some time away from the computer!

Well, does anyone have an idea where the drug rehab centers are in Ipoh and its surrounding areas?

GOSH, It’s MYR1100!

May 9, 2008 – 3:02 am

The other day, I wrote about trying to find out how much it is to buy a second battery pack for my Fujitsu Esprimo U9200. Well, the technical guys did not get back to me after a month so I decided to give them a call yesterday morning. After all, it’s a toll free number.

I was told that the battery will cost me MYR1100. And if I wanted it delivered to me, I would have to pay additional shipping costs, from Kuala Lumpur to me in Ipoh.

Like I said, I don’t need a second battery pack right now but it is good to have an option to extend my battery time should the need arises. Now that I know the price for the second battery pack, I hope that I will never require a second battery!

Earn 20% With SenseiSeeds Affiliate Program

May 7, 2008 – 11:44 pm

The other day, I was talking to an associate and I told him that I earn a living online. He asked me if I make money being an affiliate and I that although I have registered with a number of affiliate programs, I have not made much money at all and that I am still looking for a program with a good payment structure.

Coincidentally, this evening, I was introduced to the SensiSeeds Affiliate Program. From what I understand, this program pays one of the highest commissions. A purchase from your referral link will get your 20% of the total order. If you sales volume if high, you will be upgraded to a commission of 30% per sale. Really, this is very tempting compared to some other programs which pays 4% and an upgraded commission of 6% only.

However, with this SensiSeeds Affiliate Program, you will be selling cannabis seeds. Not books, not shoes, not perfumes or bags. If you do not believe me, you can read more about this program at the affiliate link here: http://affiliate.sensiseeds.com/

So no matter how much I would like to push sales and get that 20% commission, I don’t think I will be joining the program because it is illegal to sell cannabis or cannabis seeds here in Malaysia.

Vacationing In The Riviera Maya

May 7, 2008 – 5:53 pm

I told my friend that I need a vacation badly and he said, “Let’s go to Camerons!” Gah!!! Who wants to go to Camerons. So cheap! So many flies and so unromantic! If he had proposed going to romantic vacation riviera maya, I would have agreed in a heartbeat even though I have no romantic feelings for him at all! He could sit in a corner and I could sit in my own corner. I don’t care, I just want a free trip there! :D

I read in the website of Karisma Hotels and it seems like it is the most romantic place to go to right now since many couples are heading that way for their honeymoon. However, they don’t only cater to romancing holidaymakers. You can also find families aplenty in any of their resorts.

Karisma Hotels and Resorts are actually made up of a few hotels and resorts so they are able to cater to just about any kind of holiday goers at all. HHmm… who wants to give me a free holiday?

Fujitsu-Siemens Esprimo Mobile U9200 2nd Battery Pack

May 7, 2008 – 5:45 pm

Last month, when I just bought my Fujitsu-Siemens Esprimo Mobile U9200, I called up the technical department in Kuala Lumpur asking them for the model of the second battery or travel battery. Without number or anything, I don’t even know what to buy.

Frankly, the staff there had no idea that we could even use a second battery pack with this notebook hence prolonging the time we could use it without plugging in the cable. However,r the guy was pretty helpful and he said that he would find out for me.

That evening on a Friday, he called me up and told me that his superior officer will call me on Monday to let me know what model of battery would fit this laptop. he said they needed the answer from the Singapore office.

So fine. I waited and waited and waited…..

this 11th May, 2008, would be a month since I made a call to them. I ask you, how do these people do business? I didn’t call them up to hassle them because I am so busy with my own work I don’t have the time to wait on the phone. And it’s lucky that I am not in urgent need of the second battery pack. it’s just that I would like to know in advance so that I could place an order for it when the need arises.

SIGH!

Is There A Right Time To Buy A House?

May 7, 2008 – 5:42 pm

My friend, Paul, tells me that the economy in the United States has slowed down a lot. But I tell him that the economy moves in a cycle. When it’s roaring, we make hay while the sun shines and when it slows down, we take it as a break from our crazy work schedule. He fully agrees.

Do you know when ifs the best time to buy a house? Do you commit yourself to a long term mortgage when the economy has slowed down or do you buy a house when the economy is bullish? I see that mortgage lenders are still doing roaring business!

The logic is that when the economy is good, you earn a lot and can cover whatever mortgage you have taken out without a problem. On the other hand, if the economy is slow, and if you could still keep your job, your mortgage repayment is usually lower.

So, is there ever a right time? When my sister planned to buy a house some 1.5 year’s ago, her boss told her to “Just do it!” There will never be a “right” time at all! What do you think?

Automatic Credit Deduction

May 7, 2008 – 5:40 pm

A reader left me a comment recently that his credit is automatically from his Celcom balance each time he receives an unsolicited SMS text message. I am taking it that his is a Celcom prepaid subscription.

Last year, I was at the Celcom office here in Ipoh and a man went to the office to complain of a similar issue regarding his son’s Celcom line. He wanted a solution and not a refund of the monies that had been deducted, unethically, I may add.

However, Celcom was not able to do anything for him and in cases like this, I think that the best for these victims is to just cancel the line and open another one. Credit balances could always be transferred if you are subscribing from the same operator.

I don’t know why this could happen to some phone lines and when I was a prepaid user, I was very careful not to accumulate too much credit. You wouldn’t know when you would be bombarded with chargeable spam, you know?

Total Paintball Equipment Store

May 7, 2008 – 3:26 pm

A little while back, I read in the papers a lady claiming that she spends RM300 a month on paintball! Well, I don’t know if she exaggerated but RM300 is not something that everyone could afford on paintball! After all, it’s just a hobby.

My friend, who is also a paintball player, tells me that it’s the equipment that is expensive. I am not sure if these could be bought here in Malaysia but those that are available are few and far between.

This friend had to purchase paintball tanks, guns and masks from online stores and get them shipped to Malaysia. Well, he’s a rich fella so he doesn’t mind.

Even so, now that I know of Zephyr Paintball, I better let him know about it. I think he would be able to find better deals here at this paintball online store than his current supplier!
